When Stephen called me to schedule our first interview he told me, “you don’t need to dress up fancy; we’re not going to prom.” But what does that mean?
Not having to hide my flamboyant pant collection is one of my favorite perks of this gig.
As a fashion major, clothes are a Big Deal – particularly those that you would wear to a dream job interview. So I formed a committee, of course. My classmates and I pored over EMRL’s website for inspiration. It was pretty divided, with some rooting for a traditional suit and the others pushing for something wild and memorable. There was also one vote for a homecoming dress.
In the end, I decided to err on the side of fun. After the ridiculous cover letter I sent in, there was no mistaking me for understated anyway. Floyd appreciated my gold jeggings and the rest is history. Not having to hide my flamboyant pant collection is definitely one of my favorite perks of this gig.
