So, there I was, riding my neato-mosquito Tote-Cycle (built in the ’60s by Sears, Roebuck & Co.) to work this morning.
I was nearly splatted by a bus with my own advertising campaign on the side of it.
I was coming down L Street, which is a little hectic in the morning commute – no bicycle lane, drivers fighting to get into parking structures, etc. This bus comes ZOOMING by me, and then proceeds to turn right, RIGHT in front of me, cutting me off abruptly. While this is all happening, some guy on the corner is asking me if I can spare a cigarette.
Only after I was safely up onto the sidewalk and out of harm’s did I realize I was nearly splatted by a bus sporting my own advertising campaign on the side of it.
Being killed by your own ad campaign, what a way to go. Its like some kind of sad post-modern Frankenstein story.
Luckily I found this plugin for our website that will take care of informing people when and if I fall victim to my own contributions to the mass-media pile.

Whoever is broadcasting Culture Failure radio, I have been listening all afternoon and have enjoyed every song. Especially William Shatner. And Boards of Canada. And Outkast. And Brian Eno. And this thermos. I also ride a bicycle and routinely nearly die. Jim Jab CNR Weird Al. It’s 5:40PM where I am. Thank you.
