All Growed Up

house

Big changes in my life recently have made me realize that I’m no longer a kid. Sigh.

On July 18th, Tory and I bought our first home. It was a very long and stressful process (we started looking in FEBRUARY!), but we’re very happy in our little house. After living there for awhile, the thing that strikes me the most about it is how quiet our neighborhood is. After living downtown on 9th Street (across from a very busy bus stop) for a year and a half, it’s a nice change. I do wish I was a bit closer to work…and hopefully one day we can afford a home in the downtown/midtown area.

He turned me around and was on his knee… with a jewelry box!

A week after we closed escrow, Tory and I were in his parents’ backyard relaxing after work. I got up to go into the house and he grabbed my hand and turned me around. He was on his knee…with a jewelry box! He proposed and of course I said yes, and thus commenced the wedding planning (eek)! We’ve chosen our date (October 4th, 2009) and our venue, but there’s still a ton of stuff to figure out.

Being a grown up is stressful at times, but at least I’m not bored :)
