12.27.04 Wacky

Sometimes the stuff you find on the internet is pretty cool.

12.5.04 Water Colors

Last night I tried to remember how to paint with water colors. So I drew a sad girl inspired by this funky looking icon I came up with while designing a logo for one of our clients. Pretty tenuous thread, huh?

While I do wish water colors had an undo feature, after numerous attempts I finally did start to get halfway decent results. The most important thing I learned was not to drink while water coloring – I drank paint water once, and put my brush in my gin & tonic twice.

10.7.04 New Images

Some new footage back from the lab, for City Councilman Oscar Villegas. I especially like the shot of the motel signage in Reno – Biggest Little City in the World.

10.6.04 Malls, Grocery Stores, and Soft Drinks

Recent cool finds on the web: deadmalls.com – a website about failed shopping centers & malls around the US, groceteria.net, a site about classic US grocery stores (with a nice emphasis on their architecture.) Interestingly, the guy who runs the dead mall site also has a link to sodafinder.com, a site that can help locate obscure or discontinued soda. That’s some severe nerd material. I wonder if they have info on RC Cola….
